This patrol vessel built by Vittoria Shipyard is the largest unit ever designed in the history of the GdF naval service, with an overall length of 61 meters, a width of 10, a displacement of 500 tons and a full load draft of 3.15 meters. It is characterized by an ax-shaped bow, excellent sea-keeping qualities and an increase in operational capacity and patrolling speed, even in adverse marine weather conditions.
It is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system, the first application of 'green' motorization on board such a ship supplied to GdF. The diesel propulsion will have a speed of 26 knots, the electric one of 9 knots. It can accommodate 38 people.
The propulsion is made with two MTU 20V4000 M93L - 4.300kW @ 2.100rpm each coupled to a REINTJES gearbox type LAF 1963 HL-HR / 5.560:1 with special PTI (Power Take In) system for low speed patrolling (diesel-electric propulsion).
